Policies / Rules / Hours

The Pool Committee’s Pool Regulations
To ensure the enjoyment of all members, please note the following rules still apply:

  1. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied in the pool enclosure by a parent or other responsible adult. Parents are always responsible for their children and are not permitted to leave children unattended.
  2. Changing of clothes or diapers must be done in the locker rooms, not on the pool deck.
  3. Lounge chairs are for adults only. Particularly on busier days, we ask that only adults use chairs.
  4. No strollers are allowed on the pool deck. This is a pool safety issue. Car seats are allowed.
  5. Please remind family members that this is a family club and we ask that all wear appropriate swimwear providing moderate coverage.
  6. Swim diapers are ONLY permitted in the kiddie pool. This includes rubber diaper coverings. We cannot allow children who are not, yet toilet trained into the big pool. One accident shuts down the pool for hours.
  7. Talking on cell phones-even through headphones or air pods- is not allowed. It is discourteous to fellow members to have to listen to private cell phone conversations. Cell phones may be used in the locker rooms, adult cafe area or in the parking lot.

Please review this section to familiarize yourself with the policies and procedures of the NHCC pool. This guidebook is not meant to limit or restrict your experience, but meant to provide you and your family with parameters for a safe, comfortable and enjoyable summer pool experience.

These rules and regulations are intended to advise each member regarding the responsibility of his or her membership. All members should be made familiar with them and the important part they play in maintaining North Hempstead Country Club as one of the finest clubs in the Metropolitan New York area.

The extent to which the members of the club enjoy its facilities is dependent entirely upon each member's understanding, cooperation and courtesy. To operate effectively, it is necessary to maintain certain rules and regulations formulated so that you, your families and your guests may enjoy a club where the highest levels of conduct are maintained and one that will assure you of the standards and surroundings which you sought when you applied for membership.

Fellow members or senior staff members have the responsibility of pointing out infractions, and if a member persists in disregarding rules after they have been called to his or her attention, the matter should be reported to the Board of Governors for action.

In order to centralize complaints and suggestions of any nature whatsoever relating to the Club, and in order to assure prompt attention, they should be directed to the Pool Director who will report them immediately to the Club General Manager. The General Manager is responsible for the enforcement of the rules and regulations of the Club and is not authorized to make exceptions. The continued infraction of rules by any member may result in a reprimand from the Board of Governors, and in the case of serious or continued infractions, the member may be suspended or requested to resign in accordance with the By Laws.
